About me
Annette Spencer, MA, MBA, Chart. PR, FCIPR, FRSA, MIoD has spent her career in communications, policy and marketing roles in financial and professional services. She was appointed Chief Executive of the Association of Corporate Treasurers (ACT) in September 2023.
Prior to joining the ACT, Annette worked in senior in-house roles at FTSE 100 and multinational companies such as RSA Insurance (now Intact Insurance), Zurich, HSBC and Old Mutual, as well as the UK regulator – the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Latterly she has worked for membership organisations including the Investment Association and the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, where she was responsible for the organisation’s policy and public affairs work, events and all aspects of communications and marketing to members, stakeholders and the general public from 2018 to 2023.
Annette is a Fellow and Chartered Practitioner at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR), holds an MBA (with Distinction) and is a Classics graduate from Newnham College, Cambridge. In 2025 she was appointed to the University of Cambridge Alumni Advisory Board.
